Description
The Antichrist is an inciting critique by Friedrich Nietzsche of Christianity and its values of morals. Nietzsche argues that Christianity, through its sermonizing about humility, meekness, and self-denial, is an anti-life, anti-nature ideology which subordinates human instincts and desires by a grave extent. According to him, such values among Christians have their roots in a ressentiment against life and vitality as well as nurturing weakness and mediocrity. That needs to be put into contrast with the vision that Nietzsche presents: a philosophy more life-affirming, emphasizing strength and individuality, and will to power. The book challenges conventional beliefs in religion and calls for a re-evaluation of values that favor affirmation and the potency of life and human potential.
