People often perceive justice as a violent response.
And some people see forgiveness as a virtue because of the grace in their hearts.
However, this is a personal measure of behavior. In other words, a person can forgive the injustice done to him, but forgiving the injustice done to someone else is not within his sphere of authority, although it is within his sphere of recommendation.
In this context, justice has other definitions besides the definition of responding to the crime in kind.
The most important of these is to regulate that which has gone astray, that which has overstepped its bounds, to prevent excess by restoring balance, and to preserve the nature of the work.
The second is not to ignore the rights of the innocent and oppressed by being forgiving with an unnecessary sense of mercy towards the oppressors.
