Season 1, Episode 1 : Supernatural Monster Hunter ( Afro ) The Night It Began
The futuristic city of Zawadi was alive with light — neon signs blinked in native languages, hover taxis zoomed overhead, and steel towers stretched into a cloudless night sky. But in the heart of the city, an ancient darkness was waking.
Afro — a 19-year-old boy from Edo State, slim and athletic, deep brown skin, with short dreadlocks tied up in a puff — walked alone through a glowing alley in the old tech-market district. He wore a black shirt with bold white letters spelling “AFRO”, paired with dark combat jeans and worn sneakers. Around his neck hung a carved wooden pendant: a family heirloom from his grandmother, crafted in traditional Edo style.
He had no idea he was being followed.
A street bot blinked and shut down. Neon lights flickered. Afro paused.
From the shadows emerged a creature — nine feet tall, stitched from bone, shadow, and old metal. Its eyes were pits of burning ash. Afro froze.
Then something ancient pulsed from his chest — the Edo pendant began to glow faintly.
He pulled a wooden staff from his backpack — old, etched with sacred symbols. It sparked with energy as the creature lunged.
Afro ducked, flipped, and struck — instinct guiding his hands. The staff reacted like it had waited centuries to be used again. Sparks flew.
The monster screeched, stumbling back, and shattered into dust. Afro, breathing hard, stared at the staff. “What… was that?”
From a rooftop, a tall woman in white watched him. Her voice echoed without sound:
“You’ve awakened your bloodline. The hunt begins.”
Afro looked up — and the woman vanished into the neon.
